When We Eat Out At a Restaurant
one of the first things that we do is look at the menu selection.Do we ever stop to think about what is literally on that menu? I doubt it That menu that you just handled is covered with a smorgasbord of germs left by every person who touched it. From the waiter to the customer, each person contributed a variety of microbes. Some of those germs are harmless and some can cause illness. Perhaps the diner visited the restroom, skipped the handwashing, returned to the table and picked up the menu. Now those germs could be the notorious e.coli that we hear about when there is an outbreak. Many times a product will be recalled because it has become contaminated with e.coli. Ready to throwup yet? Don’t despair or regurgitate for there is a way around this dilemma.
It does not matter whether you are in a five star, upscale dining room or in just a donut shop. The situation is the same in that you handle the menu. Check the choices and remember what you want to order. Put the menu down and either wash your hands in the restroom, being careful to exit by using that paper towel to open the door or use that hand sanitizer that you carry. Hand sanitizer can help keep you healthy. No one wants to pass on germs but everyone should try to avoid them.
